Moving House

“Soft computing” is giving into imagination and if you are armed with imagination, the world lies at your feet.

I believe that in today’s India with a growing population of 1.2 billion, every family, big or small, rural or urban, would be hard pressed for a sizable house. But for an average middle class Indian family to build a conventional house is prohibitively costly. And for the rural poor and those below the poverty line, house is sometime a dream.

But I have a dream that houses could be made in an unconventional way, in a way that would make it easier to build the parts in a short time and can be quickly dismantled whenever there is a need to shift to a new place.

Modern textile industries can be exploited to weave tough flexible material which can be strutted in the inside by flat aluminum plates. A wall, for example can be made up of such two layers like that of a bag that has no opening. Now such a bag can be inflated with an electric air pump. If every wall of a house can be fitted with such inflatable materials with partitions, lofts, and floorings, living rooms, kitchen, toilets and sitting rooms could be erected in a couple of hours.
A whole staircase, for example, can be pre-fabricated and can be inflated and put in place in half an hour.

The leaks and gaps between those structures can be sealed by paste like material that would stay liquid in small containers under subzero conditions. This would make transport of such paste easy.
One can imagine that given a place to build a house, the textile material can be transported in a cart like vehicle easily. Man power needed for such installation would also be minimal.

In my opinion, this would be an environment friendly device. Today, for houses and multi storey buildings, acres of forest land are being destroyed, as trees cannot walk from one place to another but we can help the mankind by this modern technology which could make the houses to walk. It is so portable that one could have never imagined.

Within the parts of inflated walls, there are some folded attached parts within it which can be used as book shelves and various types of racks even for keeping show pieces.

The entire house would be very strong as we are using the strength property of the fiber material and so we can easily keep our essential things like wardrobe, table and almirahs.

We can make almirah, beds and also tables using wooden parts which would be like folding chairs. Each one of the important things would be made such that within some minutes we can open its folds and keep it in its original condition.

There would be many switches in the power house where there would be switches for opening and closing the doors and windows automatically. Through one switch, fans and lights would be on. One can be used to open the wardrobe for clothes. We don’t need so many clothes as one dress can be made up of different designs and colors. Some battery connections can be fitted in the clothes and in a very fashionable style the switches would be fitted in belts and pockets then the dress would light according to our wish. This method can also be applied for the window curtains and bed-sheets. Even the room colors can be changed by using some switch by proper internal circuits and soft wares.

Inside the house, book shelves, racks, almirahs, wardrobes and tables can be parts of the walls, floors and lofts. Many of these would be built into the structures and would come into existence when the house structure is erected.

Inflatable chairs, sofas and tables can be used which would be light, durable and can be easily dismantled when needed.

Lighting in the walls and floors can be planned based on electronic gadgets. These if properly installed can change the color of the walls and floors to our own liking.

During the rainy season, one can have a device to store the rain water and use the same not only for drinking, cooking and gardening but also to use its to turn tiny hydroelectric generators to harvest power for internal lighting.

Waste is a household becomes a nuisance because it has to be disposed of and many a time one litters and soils the surrounding. But on the other hand, if such waste, be it paper , vegetables , or human excreta, can be recycled to generate power and other useful items, then our surroundings would remain free from filth.

Moving houses can be made safe from burglars and thieves by installing electronic gadgets that would recognize foreign faces and fingerprints. Such devices would warn the inmates in time against burglary.

In my opinion such moving houses would be deemed as environment friendly as acres and acres of forest land could be saved from being cleared for man’s habitation.

Electric power supply is internally connected to the wall which is made up of insulated materials.
Rain water can be stored; we have a technology that during rainy season the roof top is linked to the internal pipes which can be used during water scarcity.

Our daily waste are not being wasted but recycled and using a machine we convert into different types of energy which we can use in kitchen and lightening purpose.

Water supply pipes are externally connected by materials which are light and it gives a good outlook to the entire house. Our garden drains would be fitted with micro hydel electric generators, these would function whenever there is a flow of water from kitchen, bathroom and toilets. The electricity generated would help to light a few bulbs inside the house.

Even we have not left out to think about the earthing and grounding safety by installing some materials which can save us from thunders and lightening.

Even for thieves and robbers, we have provided an alarming system which consists of a web cam that scans everyone who enters into our entrance.
